Morelock v. Weyerhauser

In 2004, Scott Morelock, the principal of Morelock Enterprises, Inc., recognized the possibility that the Weyerhauser Company may have been using its market power in the finished alder lumber market to charge inflated prices.  After conferring with his legal counsel, Morelock Enterprises became the lead plaintiff in a class action lawsuit against the Weyerhauser Company for unfairly monopolizing the alder market.

On April 28, 2008, a Portland jury found in favor of Morelock Enterprises and its class of approximately 450 members.  A judgment in the amount of $84 million was entered in favor of the class against Weyerhauser.
