Karnopp Petersen teams up with Bend’s Community Center to Feed the Hungry
Bend’s Community Center is offering free Christmas meals to the homeless and less fortunate in our community. Christmas breakfast is served from 9 to 11 a.m. on Dec. 25, with dinner served 1 to 4 p.m. at the center, 1036 N.E. Fifth St., in Bend.
Movies will be
playing throughout the day and each person will receive a gift
donated by Karnopp Petersen LLP, a Central Oregon law firm that
has sponsored the event for the past three years. The law firm
purchases the nearly 200 gifts and its staff members donate
time to prepare and serve nearly 400 meals on Christmas.
"Being involved in the Feed the Hungry program has become a
tradition at our firm," said Jon Napier, an attorney at Karnopp
Petersen. "Our attorneys and staff are grateful for the
opportunity to serve our community during the holiday
season."
BCC serves free meals every Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. through the Feed the Hungry meal program. The program includes a full salad bar, hot entrees, a sack lunch and food to go. The program serves 800 to 1,000 meals per week. For more information or to volunteer, call Bend’s Community Center at 541-312-2069 or visit www.bendscommunitycenter.org.
