Lauren J. Lester
Professional Experience
Lauren joined Karnopp Petersen in 2007 after serving as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Virginia L. Linder. Prior to attending law school, Lauren worked for the National Restaurant Association in Washington D.C. for two years. She then decided to head west to pursue her Juris Doctorate at the University of Arizona. While in law school, Lauren won an award for excellence in legal writing, coordinated a legal referral program for the Tucson Indian Center, and served as a research assistant to Professor Robert Glennon. Lauren also won the 2005 Lillian S. Fisher Prize for her article on the impacts of the Endangered Species Act on tribal consumptive water use. That article was published by the Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy as part of the Center's monograph series.
Professional and Community Activities
Lauren is a member of the Deschutes County Bar Association, and the Oregon State Bar's Indian Law and Environmental & Natural Resources sections.
Personal Interests
Outside the office, Lauren enjoys skiing, mountain biking, cycling, swimming, and spending time with her husband and two dogs.
