Navigating New Employment Laws

If you’ve been watching the employment law alerts, you know the 2009 Oregon Legislature did more than just a few bits of housekeeping.  Big changes for employers are coming soon—some effective now, but many effective January 1, 2010.

But what are the most important changes to follow up on in your workplace?  And what’s the best way to address them?  At our upcoming seminar, we’ll ring in 2010 with some critical updates and practical tips about some of the most important new employment law changes.  We’ll address best practices for:

  • Dealing with Oregon’s new religious accommodation provisions.
  • Embracing Oregon’s new disability laws (which closely follow recent federal changes).
  • Watching out for our state’s new whistleblower protections.

Join the Employment Team at Karnopp Petersen for a focused legislative update on December 9th, 2010 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. You’ll hear messages for your managers and more about these critical changes.  We’ll offer a summary of other key changes, too.

Employment law seminars are free and a light breakfast is provided. Space is limited, so don't wait to RSVP.

If you have any questions about our seminar or any workplace issues, contact a Karnopp Petersen employment attorney at 541-382-3011 or at the following email addresses: Ron Roome (rlr@karnopp.com); Jon Napier (jjn@karnopp.com); or Kurt Barker (keb@karnopp.com).
