Karnopp Petersen LLP is pleased to announce the election of Ellen Grover and Erin MacDonald as the firm’s
new managing partners effective January 1, 2019.
The managing partner promotions kick off a strong year for Karnopp Petersen LLP which also
this year announced the election of two new partners, attorneys Jennilyn Aston and Annie
Grover and MacDonald will continue their respective practices, while overseeing the
day-to-day operations of the firm.
Grover’s practice is focused in the areas of land use, natural resources, Indian, and
development law. She has advised clients on complex Oregon land use and energy siting law
issues, natural resource regulatory programs, compliance matters and business development
matters. She is a member of the Oregon State Bar Sustainable Future section, the Oregon
State Bar Environmental and Natural Resources section, the Deschutes County Bar Association, Bend Endurance Academy Board of Directors and the Bend Metro Parks and Recreation District Board.
Grover received a BA in Political Science, magna cum laude from the College of
Charleston in South Carolina and received her law degree from Lewis and Clark Law
School with a certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law.
MacDonald practices in the Trusts and Estates Department of Karnopp Petersen LLP. She
regularly counsels clients in the areas of estate planning, probate, trust administration, tax
planning and charitable giving.
A graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut (B.A. in Psychology), MacDonald
earned her Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, from the Lewis & Clark Law School. She is
active in the community serving as board member for the Central Oregon Community
College Foundation, Central Oregon Estate Planning Counsel, U.S. Bank’s Central and
Eastern Oregon Region, and Assistance League of Bend. MacDonald is also member of
the Executive Committee of the Oregon State Bar Estate Planning and Administration
Section, Oregon State Bar Estate Planning and Elder Law Sections, Central Oregon Estate
Planning Council, Oregon Women Lawyers, Cascade Women Lawyers, and Deschutes
County Bar Association. She is also Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate
