Jennilyn K. Aston

Professional Experience

Jennilyn joined Karnopp Petersen’s Business Department in September 2015.  Her practice is focused on business transactions, business organizations, real property transactions, employment law, intellectual property and technology-related agreements, and state and federal trademarks.  Jennilyn has a broad range of experience counseling employers, property owners, businesses, and individuals from a number of different industries, including manufacturing, technology, construction, medical and dental practices, education, and real estate.

While attending Willamette University College of Law, Jennilyn spent two terms as an extern clerk to the Honorable Justice Walters of the Oregon Supreme Court.  She served as an associate editor for Willamette Law Review and was elected the 2011-2012 Law Review Managing Editor.  She also worked as a Legal Research and Writing student assistant, participated in the Business Clinic and Trial Practice, and received awards for excellence in legal writing and contract drafting.

Prior to law school, Jennilyn spent over five years in the real estate and property management business, a year and a half as an operations supervisor for a medical practice, and owned her own business.  Her years of business experience provides useful perspective for her business-focused practice.

Personal Interests

Outside of the office, Jennilyn enjoys running, snowboarding, paddle boarding and being outdoors with her husband and son.
